The Cause, Consequences, and Cure of Anger

Created on: 2024-10-25

Next in the series of Deadly Sins is Wrath - Anger. (Again, I'm not pushing religion, it's just a structure.)

There are times when anger is justified and necessary, and there are times when it's not. It's important to know that critical thinking works best when we're cool-headed, and this is exactly the reason propagandists often seek to make us angry.

A classic example of this comes from World War I. Why did the war start? On the surface, Franz Ferdinand was assassinated, causing a chain reaction, putting one half of Europe against the other. But did the death of one statesman really justify the horrors of that war?

In Britain, the people were initially unmotivated to be involved. However, a propaganda campaign in the UK told that Germans were mercilessly killing babies in the Netherlands. This was the "Babies on Bayonets" campaign. The reality is: the story was completely made up, to incite hatred against the Germans, and make the British ready to fight.

Anti - Anti - Vaxxers

During covid, another group was targeted by propagandists: so-called anti-vaxxers.

Those of us who were aware of the lies during covid tried our best to educate those around us, and were often met with irrational anger.

In 2021, I was at a gathering in a local park of people opposed to vaccine mandates. There were maybe thirty of us, some of whom were preparing signs to take to a major roadway as part of our efforts.

Nearby, a local (Labour) politician was enjoying a photo-opportunity in the same park. A woman who we believe was from their group came over to ours and started an outpouring of hate, saying: "You antivaxxers, you're scum, you're vile, you're disgusting," etc. Her hate was quite palpable.

I tried to engage her in some actual science, but do I even need to tell you that was a wasted effort? She came over, expressed her rage, and then left. No rational debate was possible.

Whatever her personal story, Labour certainly attacked so-called anti-vaxxers, but of course they were not alone in stirring up hate - all major parties, in the UK and many other countries, got in on the act, and were successful in pitting a very naive majority against a minority that was overwhelmingly far more informed.

Who benefits?

Manufacturers who had a product to sell, who were aiming for "100% market penetration", a "captive market", and an endless "repeat market", in the lingo of sales. The products were of course the genetic vaccines.

The rabid anti-anti-vaxxer type was conned by organisations who do not have their best interests at heart. Indeed, the Pharma industry suppressed life saving alternatives (from within orthodox medicine) in order to get their dangerous products to market, putting profit before lives.

Anti - Natural Healing

But it's much broader than this. About a year ago, I was at a networking event. A guy approached me and read my badge telling him I'm a natural healer.

At first he was affable and curious. My perception is that he was happy to accept me as someone he saw as tinkering at the edges of healing, with some harmless, but also mostly useless herbs.

He offered me a helping hand, saying: "There's some good in those old wives' tales."

I answered: "Well, some yes, some no." It clearly irritated him that I was treating herbalism in a serious manner, not just as a superstition.

Next he talked about the placebo effect. I countered that the results I've experienced personally are way beyond anything the placebo effect could possibly produce. He got yet more irate.

When I told him that pretty much every disease - not every patient, but nearly every disease - is curable through natural healing, he demanded proof.

Fair enough. So I gave him an anecdote. In retrospect, he was not ready for the anecdote I gave, which was about an acute condition, and a very dramatic healing. At this point he starts wagging his finger at me and shouts: "You can't cure things with herbs! I've done a course!"

I don't want to sound arrogant, but to say this to any decent healer is like telling him you don't believe in pigeons. There are endless examples of successful healing. One plant medicine alone counts for millions of lives saved.

When you aim at resolving the cause of a condition, rather than the symptoms, you can get amazing results. How far any individual can be healed and how long it takes depends on many factors. Optimizing health might be a short or a long term project, but acute conditions might be dealt with very, very quickly.

However, I realised the conversation was pointless, so I said, "Seeing is believing," and exited the conversation. (Later in the evening this guy talked loudly over a visiting dignitary's speech, showing he was rude to almost everyone in the room. Don't be that guy!)

What's truly lamentable about this is, before we got into an argument, he mentioned that his wife was seriously ill, and named her conditions. He was young, so I presume she was too. Her situation was very serious, as he was well aware.

I didn't even approach his wife's case, but I can tell you, her situation can be treated, and the worst of her conditions is curable. And I'm pretty sure, from the information he gave, that I can work out critical things about her diet.

It saddens me when the people who most need healing don't get it because they have been prejudiced against natural healing.

Who benefits?

Again, Big Pharma, a multi-trillion dollar industry, with ruthless business strategies and criminal rap sheets which fill entire books. Their sponsorship of commercial media channels is essentially hush-money: no channel will attack its biggest sponsors.

Similarly, they exercise undue influence over the medical system and journals. It's not absolute; there can be pushback; but there is undue influence. The smarter orthodox doctors recognise this.

Most people who are in good health don't have the time or inclination to study health beyond mainstream reports, so are caught off-guard when divisive propaganda is used to deliberately set them against anyone with another viewpoint.

Politicians

Here's a very recent example of propaganda, from UK Labour MP Mark Ferguson. The context is a debate about free speech on university campuses:

"Would my honourable friend [the Minister] agree with me that the party opposite’s position is in fact a charter for Hizb ut-Tahrir, Holocaust deniers, and vaccine deniers to wander our universities freely?"

Did ya catch that? Holocaust deniers and "vaccine deniers" - whatever that means - in the same breath?

The fact is, many of the people who blew the whistle on covid vaccines are pro every other vaccine; medical staff reporting on the alarming rate of injuries they've seen; writers and editors at orthodox medical journals; people who've been personally injured or bereaved by vaccines (because the person took them!); and research scientists who blew the whistle on trial irregularities. For sure this ignorant MP knows nothing about this, but glibly and deliberately associates any deviation from the official line with Holocaust denial, to stigmatize all of these people, and more.

But propaganda and politics are not the only sources of anger.

The Angry Organ

Another of the reasons people become angry and irritable in general is through compromised health, specifically toxicity and reduced nutrition. Physiologically this can be traced to a number of organs, but chief among them is the liver, which for this reason is known in Traditional Chinese Medicine as "The angry organ".

The liver serves many functions, including managing our energy levels, and detoxifying the blood. If the liver is already congested with toxins, it can manage neither of these tasks well. Toxins flowing freely in the body make us feel generally lousy, and low energy makes us irritable.

The Consequences and Cures of Anger

In terms of learning, as previously hinted at, the red mist clouds the mind, and makes people less able to learn or reason. This can shut them off from acquiring information that would benefit them enormously, in any field.

Socially, excessive irritability is socially isolating, which can create a vicious circle.

Physiologically, to be in a state of constant anger is exhausting and unpleasant. It uses up the nutritive resources of the body, with negative effects on health.

But this state of mind can be reversed by a number of methods.

One is through natural healing: a variety of plants, for instance, can be used to target specific organs to help them to remove their toxic encumbrances.

Another method is meditation. Meditation calms the mind, allowing the body to switch from stress and fight-or-flight modes, to rest-and-digest mode. When the body is calmed in this way, it works to detoxify itself.

At the most basic level, one way to meditate is simply to walk in a nature spot, and while there, give yourself permission to not think about everyday concerns, and just immerse yourself in the experience. This is not only good for the mind, but also the body.

There are endless ways to meditate, which can be learned from meditation teachers, or hypnotherapists (self-hypnosis is a form of meditation).

The restful state of meditation also replenishes energy. When practiced regularly, the calm experienced during meditation begins to pervade the rest of a meditator's life, enabling him to remain calm even in testing situations. I cannot recommend meditation highly enough.

There's another extremely fast way to lift the mood, and that is through the aromas of certain plants. Step into a fragrant garden in bloom in summer, and you'll know it. Plants with a sweet and heavy scent, such as lillies, can instantly lift the mood.
